Description:
Cefakind CV (500/125 mg) Tablet is a combination medicine used for treating a variety of bacterial infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, and uncomplicated skin infections. This medicine is not recommended for use in infants less than 3 months of age.
Uses:
- Pharyngitis/Tonsilitis
This medicine is used in the treatment of tonsillitis/pharyngitis, which is an inflammation of the tonsils/throat, caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae.
- Acute maxillary Sinusitis
This medicine is used in the treatment of acute maxillary sinusitis, an inflammation of the sinuses, caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.
- Acute Bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis
This medicine is used in the treatment of an acute worsening of chronic bronchitis, an inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubules, caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae or some Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
- Secondary Bacterial infection of Acute Bronchitis
This medicine is used in the treatment of secondary bacterial infections of acute bronchitis, which is an inflammation of the lining of bronchial tubules, that usually happens following a previous viral or bacterial infection.
- Skin and Skin Structure Infection
This medicine is used in the treatment of uncomplicated infections of the skin and skin structures caused by bacteria. These infections may include infected wounds, folliculitis, abscesses, cellulitis, ulcers, etc.
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections
This medicine is used in the treatment of infections of the urinary tract caused by Escherichia coli or Klebsiella pneumoniae.
- Lyme disease
This medicine is used in the treatment of Lyme disease, which is a bacterial infection caused by Borrelia burgdorferi. This disease may be associated with symptoms such as a fever, skin rashes with a bull's-eye pattern, growing area of skin redness, etc.
- Acute bacterial otitis media
This medicine is used in the treatment of an acute middle ear infection (otitis media) which may be caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, etc.
- Gonococcal Infection
This medicine is used in the treatment of a gonococcal infection, which is a sexually transmitted bacterial infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
