Fucidin Ointment is an antibiotic often prescribed to treat bone infections such as osteomyelitiswhich is caused by a particular bacterium called Staphylococcus aureus. It works by stopping the growth of the germs. Fucidin Ointment is also prescribed for other infections caused by staphylococcal germs, which result in skin infections. Before taking Fucidin Ointment you should ask your doctor to check you for any kind of liver problems or gallbladder problems. Tell your doctor if you are on any other medicines with or without a prescription. It is very important that your doctor knows if you are taking medicines for high cholesterol. If you are on a diet which is low in salt (sodium) for any medical reason tell your doctor.
Along with its useful effects, Fucidin Ointment can cause some unwanted side-effects even though not everyone experiences them. A few people on Fucidin Ointment have reported a liver problem that results in the skin or the whites of the eyes to go yellow.
