Description:
AB Phylline 100mg Capsule, a xanthine derivative, is prescribed as a bronchodilator for the treatment of asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, tightness in chest, lungs inflammation, and other conditions. It is also used when a patient feels difficulty in breathing. AB Phylline 100mg Capsule regulates surfactant production by reducing the bronchial obstruction. It also works as an anti-inflammatory compound.
On using AB Phylline 100mg Capsule, side-effects are possible but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, drowsiness, gastrointestinal discomfort, heartburn, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, esophageal obstruction, airway inflammation, increased white blood cell count, urticaria, rashes, itching, constipation and diarrhoea are some side effects. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.
Before starting this medication it is advised to
- Inform your doctor if you are on therapy with other medications such as barbiturates, frusimide, reserpine or phenytoin.
- Inform your doctor if you are suffering from any seizure disorders, liver or kidney impairment or blood vessel disorders.
- Inform your doctor if you have any nervous system disorders like epilepsyor face acute myocardial infarction from time to time.
- Inform your doctor if you are a smoker.
- Inform your doctor if you are breast-feeding.
- Inform your doctor if you are allergic towards any of the ingredients present in AB Phylline 100mg Capsule.
The usual dosage for AB Phylline 100mg Capsule in adults is 100mg, administered twice daily. It is preferably taken after meals. In case you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose then you can skip the missed dose. Contact your doctor if you suspect an overdose with this medicine.
Uses:

This medicine is used to relieve and treat irritation, blockage, and swelling of airways associated with both chronic and acute form of asthma.
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
This medicine is used to relieve shortness of breath, wheezing, cough and other symptoms associated with obstructive diseases of the lungs.
Side Effects:
In addition to its intended effect, AB Phylline 100mg Capsule may cause some unwanted effects too. In such cases, you must seek medical attention immediately. This is not an exhaustive list of side effects. Please inform your doctor if you experience any adverse reaction to the medication.
