Description:

Coscopin Syrup is a type of drug known as an antitussive, which means that it is a coughsuppressant, and used to treat patients suffering from cough. There is unclear evidence of it being used to treat certain cancers. It is administered orally, and is available in the form of tablets and syrups. The recommended dose for adults is 15 to 30 mg per day, while that for children is around 7.5 mg per day.

This medication is contraindicated to pregnant women (as it could cause harm to the fetus) and to patients that have had an allergic reaction to this medication or to any of its components in the past. Individuals with a history of the following medical conditions should exercise utmost caution while using this drug: kidney problems, heart disorders, lung diseases, asthma, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, glaucoma, hypertension and allergic reactions.

Possible adverse effects of Coscopin Syrup include nausea, vomiting, headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, loss of coordination, and an increased heart rate. You are advised to keep your doctor informed about your medical conditions, any medication that you may be using, and any allergic reactions that you may have had in the past. You are also advised to avoid overdosing on Coscopin Syrup.
