Istamet Xr Cp Tablet is a drug prescribed to patients with type 2 diabetes. It helps in reducing the blood sugar level in the body. It is classified under DDP-4 inhibitor class of medications. It is taken with diet and regular exercise and is sometimes prescribed along with other medications. It comes as a tablet and is consumed orally. However, note that it is used to lower blood sugar levels only and not to cure diabetes in itself.
Possible side effects of Istamet Xr Cp Tablet include nausea, chills, seizures, dizziness, Anxiety, headache¸ fast heartbeat and slurred speech. It can also cause nightmares and cold sweats and severe skin reaction. Consult your doctor immediately if you notice any unusual effects. It can also cause some minor side effects like sore throat, sneezing, stuffy or runny nose or even cough.
Istamet Xr Cp Tablet is not used for treating type 1 diabetes and is not advised for people with high blood ketone levels. You should consult your doctor before you use Istamet Xr Cp Tablet if you are pregnant, breast-feeding, have any kidney problems. It is also not advised for people that have a history of conditions like gallstones, Angioedema or swelling of pancreas.
